To check for amp worker tasks - the utility awtmon is used for this (check the utilities manual). If you have teradata manager you can run it from there also.

There is also an option under 'alert policy editor' vprocs - available amp worker tasks that you can use to have tmgr flag you when the system reaches a set amount of awts
