Subj:   Re: Stored Procedure to Move the Space From Database To Database

From:   Vinay Bagare

I believe you are on the right track.

The idea should be good enough for you to make the next move - yeah write a code.

Questions that you should ask yourself

- What parameters do i need to move space - Yes FromDatabase, ToDatabase, Space, Probably an OUT Parameter

- Should I pass Space as Bytes, MB, GB, TB - programmers consideration - You should handle it

- How do I actually move space - If you have used Teradata Administrator to move space, it would be extremely easy to guess (Create a temp database with required database under the owner from which you would like to move space and then issue a GIVE command to the change the ownership to the database that needs the database)

-Finally to reclaim the space to the target database, just nuke the temp database

If somebody has already given the code, then you could use this as first grader write up from me!

Thanks,

Vinay Bagare
