Explain plan of a query contains following phrase:

     "(compressed columns allowed)
           fanned out into 26 hash join partitions,"

Can you please help me understand what is meaning of this.

The table is having UPI and no partition.

For confidential reason I can not post the entire query on forum but any help would be appreciated.

Some additional information: The table to which this table in being joined is have a partion on date column but the tables are not being joined on that columns but on UPI of this column.
