Subj:   Re: What if we use Fload or Mload for less than 10000 rows

From:   Diehl, Robert

Prahlad,

Since you did not include much about your multiload script it will be hard to pinpoint the problems.

Here are some areas to investigate

1) number of sessions used.

2) The pack factor used.

3) any blocking of these inserts/updates by same tpump script or other scripts

4) if blocking by same tpump script then you should look into Serialization in tpump.

You can find these in the TPUMP documentation. There is also an Orange book about using TPUMP that will help you.

Disadvantage of fload and mload over tpump is there is a litmited number concurrent jobs. There is also a overhead at startup for creating tables etc.

Thanks,

Bob Diehl
