Chaim, I had to re-read your original posting and noticed that you were talking about ODBC:
"I have macros that load into a certain table via an ODBC connection - sometimes after the macro begins, an MLOAD job loading to the
same table begins and this causes a blocking situation. The blocked MLOAD process is blocked already at the BEGIN MLOAD stage."
This ODBC aspect was not discussed in the subsequent postings. Perhaps it is important in your discussion with the local DBA but it is
difficult for us to understand the role of ODBC connections in your ETL process. Could you perhaps describe it in more detail?
