Subj:   Re: Load data from Oracle to Teradata in Linux

From:   Vinit Sidhpura

Hi,

Thanks for the updates.

Actually to be more specific we are having Teradata server running on Linux machine. We need to extract data from Oracle server which is remotely located(we do have IP address and user connection to access the oracle tables) and store it into Teradata server on linux. This process has to be scheduled on daily/weekly basis.

Please find my comments below to your points.

Any way..... My doubt on your question is:

  * You want job to be done in LINUX only. ( client is LINUX )

Yes the pull process has to run on linux machine.

  * Your Teradata database is in LINUX and you have doubt connecting Teradata database runs on LINUX can be connected using windows. (Teradata is in LINUX and client is in windows)

Actually client is remotely located i.e. oracle server. If possible can you explain the process in brief for this approach
