Rob, I have no idea. This thread is the first time I have read about the plans to implement the feature in Teradata although we discussed it
here a few times in the past.
I can just say that I hope its implementation would be more intelligent than a conversion to a product join. In Oracle, the feature is often
used by code generators to build complex queries out of all kinds of configuration data stored in reference tables and I suspect that the same
code generators have requested it from Teradata. It is not an easy request to implement so I guess we'll just have to wait and see what
happens.
