From:   DWellman

Hi,

What do you mean by "...to a particular database..." ? I'm not certain this makes sense in a Teradata environment. Do you mean:

- all sessions logged on to a Teradata system - but what happens if someone logs on after you've dropped all sessions ?

- all sessions with their default database set to a particular database - but what happens if someone changes their default database after you've started processing ?

- all sessions accessing tables/views etc in a particular database - but what happens if someone starts a query after you've started processing?

I'm guessing from the "nightly batch run" comment that you're trying to prevent access to tables/views in a particular database whilst you load data into them. You should be able to do this using TASM with (I think) "object filter" rules.

Cheers,

Dave
