How busy is your W'hse the rest of the week?

Have U considered moving some of the archives to a different window?

Monday from 4-6am? Friday at cob? What about daily for one hour at cob? Implementing any of these alternatives shortens the big window -- perhaps by as much as 3 - 6 hrs.

Some of the smaller ones could even run during the work day.

As suggested by Idrike, grouping jobs to isolate the problem data structures from their respective load and archive processing is a good idea. U may end up keeping an eye on the schedules to ensure that schedule changes don't blindside your arrangements.

How critical is the loading that occurs during the BAR window? If this ELT/ETL activity is critical to the business, then approach the budget gods (in these recessionary times) and obtain funding to enhance the archive capability.

In the end, U'll judge the trade-offs and take your best shot.

Good luck.
