I think if you are using a recent version of CLI, you can simply put

     .LOGON MYCMPNY.XX.YYY.ZZ/myUser

Or

     .LOGON MYCMPNY/myUser

(if default DNS domain is XX.YYY.ZZ)

And it will look for MYCMPNYcop1.XX.YYY.ZZ, MYCMPNYcop2.XX.YYY.ZZ, etc. It won't care whether there is actually an entry for the name without the "cop" suffix or not.
