Subj:   Re: MVS Copy and Paste to SQL Assist 7.2.0.4

From:   Dempsey, Mike

The normal Paste command is now handled directly by the CodeEditor control - compared to 6.0 when we specifically simulated a Ctrl+C command. One thing you could try is to use Shift+Ins instead. I doubt it will help but it is handled slightly differently so maybe it will.

The only 3270 emulator I have is NetManage, and I have no problem cutting/pasting to SQL Assistant 7.2 or 12.0 from that emulator.

The clipboard contains many different data types and applications can Set or Read any of these. My guess is that your emulator writes 2 different formats to the clipboard (probably EBCDIC in one 'format' and ASCII in another) and our new control searches the data types in a different order than Notepad, or simply searches additional formats. It will use the first one it finds. (For example it would search for 'RichText' before 'Text' - which Notepad will not.)

Without knowing exactly what is in the clipboard (which formats and the data in each) I cant really analyse this much more.

Check the option settings of the emulator to see if there are any options related to the clipboard, or to the Copy function. You may be able to control what data is copied, and in what format.
