When upgrading from one release of Teradata to another, it is always best to read the Release Summary for each intervening release so you understand what features have been added.

The Release Summary is available from http://www.info.teradata.com (used to be info.ncr.com), along with the rest of the Teradata Database documentation, and is arranged by release, then book title.
