Subj:   Re: Questions about result in alert.log

From:   Dempsey, Mike

Current versions of the Teradata Manager Alert system do not have a specific configuration for 'Policy refresh failed'.

Version 12 will contain a new item for this on the 'System' tab.

Versions prior to 7.1.0.6 will execute the action defined for 'Node is Down', if any.

Version 7.1.0.6 and above will look for a row in the AlertLevel table with an ID of 110. (An excerpt from the Readme file follows:)

At the end of the InsAlertSystem macro definition, there is an Insert statement that looks like this:

     ;Insert dbcmngr.AlertLevel Values (110, 'Refresh', 0, 0, '', '', '', 0);

Edit this Insert statement, to replace the fifth value ('', above) with the name of the logical alert action to be executed when the alerts facility detects that it is unable to refresh alert policy information from the Teradata Database.

eg.

     ;Insert dbcmngr.AlertLevel Values (110, 'Refresh', 0, 0, 'Email DBA', '', '', 0);
