Subj:   Re: Need help to load data using BTEQ

Hemanth:

Unfortunately, your stated requirements are stated so vaguely, we cannot provide you with any valid recommendations.

For instance:

1. What does text file mean? fixed length, fixed position char columns or delimited text fields of character varying length (BTEQ does not do this)

2. What does "automatically" pointing to a file mean? receives a name at run time from a table, file, et al

Regardless of what they mean, it sounds like TPump is a better approach because the Support Environment allows you to accept parameters and substitute them for file names and table names as well as data values. In addition, it works well with delimited files.
