I am attempting to use the NCR OLEDB 1.2.0.5 provider. I have cleanly installed a V1.2.0.5 version obtained from the NCR web site. I made certain that the older 1.0.0.0 version was totally deleted.

When I attempt to created a OLEDB connection I get the following error message

"Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Catastrophic failure"

Could this be some to do with remnants of the old 1.0 driver still hanging about?

We plan to do some testing with this provider for doing a ASP.NET 2.0 web developed by Visual Studio 2005 directly again the Teradata.

We can get and have tested the OLEDB thru ODBC provider and gotten the Teradata connection to work with VS2005 and ASP.NET2.0.

Appreciate any suggestions or directions.
