Teradata Administrator uses SQL that can be release-specific and TA6.1 corresponds to DBMS V2R5.1. TA is backward compatible for some number of releases, but when you upgrade the DBMS you need to upgrade TA also.

Teradata's release numbering is not exactly obvious, but for V2R6.1 you should use TA7.1 from the TTU8.1 bundle.
