Subj:   Re: Microsoft Access, ODBC, finfotype error

From:   Tom.Pierce

John,

I have ODBC 3.3.00.09 installed and when I CREATE a Teradata table from Access via File>Export and use the ODBC data source I avoid this error by checking the Return max. CHAR/VARCHAR length as 32K check box under Custom options on the Teradata ODBC Driver Advanced Options window. I also change the character columns in the access table to be a more accurate character count. Like a Date field with format yyyy-mm-dd I change to text and filed size 10 in access design mode. Then I can use INSERT/SELECT to a new table to change it to data type date once it is in the database.
