Subj:   Re: Information about MATERIALIZED VIEW

From:   Wagh, Mohan Maheshwar

Dear Vijaya,

"MATERIALIZED VIEWS" is a technical word used by ORACLE for their instantiated & data-populated views, "MATERIALIZED VIEWS" is NOT a technical word with Teradata.

If you wish to know the equivalent of "MATERIALIZED VIEWS(Oracle)" in Teradata, then the same functionality, i.e. Instantiation and data- population, can be derived from "JOIN INDEXES" in Teradata.

In Teradata documentation you will find wealth of information on JOIN INDEXES. I suggest you read through Teradata documentation and you will get the answer for your question, if the question is on Teradata.

Thanking you,

regards,

Mohan Wagh.
