Rakesh,

I noticed that there are quite a number of OLE DB providers and ODBC drivers which claim to support VSAM. On paper it seems like you should be able to use these to load into the Teradata Database. Here's what you might do:

- Ensure that you have the appropriate OLE DB provider or ODBC driver installed on a Microsoft Windows system.

- Ensure that you have either Teradata MultiLoad, Teradata FastLoad, or Teradata Tpump installed on the same system.

- Ensure that you have the Teradata OLE DB Access Module installed on the same system. This software is available from the same TTU CD that contains MultiLoad, FastLoad, and Tpump.

- Start / All Programs / Teradata Client / OleLoad.

- For "Select a source", pick the OLE DB Provider that you installed to access your VSAM source. Or, if you're using an ODBC driver, select the "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (MSDASQL)" entry, and then pick your ODBC driver from the resulting screen. Depending on the source OLE DB provider or ODBC driver, it might be necessary to set some options. Consult the documentation for your OLE DB provider or ODBC driver for the necessary settings.

- After you've selected everything to connect to the source, for "Select a destination", pick the "NCR Teradata ('Teradata')" entry.

- Select the desired information to be copies from the OleLoad GUI.

- Then click on Launch and pick the desired load utility (FastLoad, MultiLoad, or Tpump).

- After that, a load script will automatically be generated. Make any desired changes to the script and then click on OK.

I should mention that while it seems that this should work on paper, I haven't personally tried this, so I don't know if it actually works. It'd be super if you could report back with your results so that others could benefit.
