Subj:   Re: CONNECT BY feature of Oracle

From:   Victor Sokovin

Does teradata have any function similar to CONNECT BY of Oracle?

The answer depends on the database release.

As of V2R6.0 there is an equivalent construct called WITH RECURSIVE.

Example:

On earlier releases, there is no ready-to-use equivalent. If you are still using them then you have to write your own code. A stored procedure can be considered for reasonable data volumes.

Regards,

Victor
