Hi Rachana:

My first suspicion is the desktop itself. I would look at memory and cpu levels. I would then look at the network connection and definitions for performance. You could also verify that they have the same ODBC driver that other better working computers are using. Teradata does not care where the SQL comes from nor to where it is going back.

In other words, it does not discriminate based on user (other than priorities at execution) nor PC type.
