In the case of a Teradata software upgrade it is recommended to run collect statistics to update Optimizer with any change in the newer
release of software.
Otherwise, I can't see why you would need to collect stats after adding new nodes - stats are about the table, the no of rows on your tables
will stay the same,as well uniqueness ratio etc - so don't see need to recollect.
