Geoffrey,

Thanks for replicating this bug... I was going nuts trying to figure what was causing the session to hang. Are you on V2R5? I ask because Dieter isn't experiencing this bug, and he is on V2R6. Maybe Teradata has already addressed or inadvertantly resolved this error.

Also, the suggestion about using hex values for ')' and '(' works great!

I'll try opening an incident with Teradata later this week.
