Hi David:

If you or anyone ever asked this before it would be in the archives. But to answer your question you must collect statistics on the instance of the table, not the table itself (in DBC).

     COLLECT TEMPORARY STATISTICS ON ;

This would collect all statistics that have been collected on the definition, like a real table. However, if no statistics are collected on the definition, then you must add either INDEX or COLUMN indications when you collect it on the instance.
