Hi

I asked this question as some of the Files that we receive has header and trailer and all records are fixed length.

If all records are of fixed length other than header and trailer

To just remove header and trailer from the file I have to either recreate the whole file without header and trailer or like the other member of this group said send it to named FIIFO , I don't like the idea to load from a named pipe as this will slow down the load process. ( Any how have I have to load data from Windows )

So Is there a chance that I can ignore the first and the last line from my data file.

One thing that I can think of is say to multiload to start from a particular record to a particular record.

for this I have the option to calculate the number of records from the file and then generate mload script and in it specify to take data from file from this numbered record to this numbered record.

Do any of you have any other trick that I can use

Thanks

PS: I am looking for a FIXED Length record
