Subj:   Re: Out of spool and OLAP functions

From:   Mohommod.Khan

Yes, I got onto the same the ditch and learned this in a hard way. There was a tech alert on this and couple of Drs that are there.

This info may help you: --

Queries with OLAP window functions can generate a skewed spool file that can result in 2646 out of spool error. This may include CSUM/RANK/SUM over etc.

Probable Cause: Regression of DR93203 which was introduced at the following TDBMS releases:

     TDBMS_6.0.2_GCA
     TDBMS_6.0.1.10_GCA
     TDBMS_6.0.0.24_GCA
     TDBMS_5.1.2.17_GCA
     TDBMS_5.1.1.33_GCA
     TDBMS_5.0.3.55_GCA

Solution: Only workaround is to back down to PTDBMS release below the ones mentioned in Probable Cause.

DR99497 will address this issue at the following releases:

     TDBMS_6.1.0.1_GCA
     TDBMS_6.0.0.35_GCA
     TDBMS_5.1.2.28_GCA
     TDBMS_5.0.3.71_GCA

Our version was V2R5.1.2.25 and had to upgrade it to V2R5.1.2.28

If you don't have the patch I would suggest to re-write the query that may help you avoiding this particular problem. Hope this helps.
