Subj:   Re: Cannot logon to Teradata demo system

From:   Victor Sokovin

Thanks to people for responding ot this. The current situation is that the 8192 vproc is 'Fatal'. We've tried using vprocmanager to set it's status to Online and the new status seems to be accepted, but when we restart the dbms the vproc goes back into Fatal status and the crash count is <> 0.

David, you might need to log port activity using, say, the MS Port Reporter tool:

.

I suspect that port 1025 is causing the problem. If it is not related to the firewall software then the logs should show what else is interfering. It could be a recently installed security patch blocking the port, or perhaps another Windows XP service (mis)using it.

Please keep us posted. If it is the new security patch then sooner or later everybody running the TD demo will face a similar problem.

Regards,

Victor
