Simon,

Not the FORMAT FASTLOAD clause on the .EXPORT command of fastexport will only give you non-null data values.

You need to include the MODE INDICATOR clause to your .EXPORT statement, then make sure that your MLOAD .LAYOUT statement includes the keyword INDICATORS; Or in the case if FASTLOAD, the BEGIN LOADING statement would need to include the keyword INDICATORS.

Only then will nulls be loaded properly...that is want the INDICATORS really are, null bits added to the front of output row.
