In V2R5.0 there was a default INTEGERDATE format setting in dbscontrol; you may have been relying on that for your implicit character to date conversion. In V2R5.1 the default formatting for INTEGERDATE and many other things is now controlled via the tdlocaledef utility. Check the manuals for details.
