Subj:   Re: Equivalent of DB2's BIGINT in Teradata

From:   Santosh Manicka

This is exactly where it failed. Finally, after discussion with the local DBA, I defined the field as DECIMAL(18) and downloaded the data in the same format from DB2, so it would be compatible with layout defined in fastload and it was. Thanks all for the replies. So, we do not have an exact equivalent of BIGINT in teradata, but the nearest equivalent would be DECIMAL(18).

Regards,

Santosh.
