Hi Kavitha,

I do not think you should worry much for a minor upgrade like this (5.0 to 5.1).

There are standard procedures that are better to be followed for all kinds of database version upgrades of Teradata.

1) Make sure you do not have any errors being reported by 'Scandisk' and 'Checktable at level TWO'

2) Make sure that there are no locks present on database objects due to ARCMAIN (HUT locks)

3) Make sure that there are no locks present on database objects due to load utilities like Multiload/Fastload

4) Collect EXPLAIN plans and run times of couple of standard queries in your environment which can be handy in case there appears a performance degradation post upgrade

5) It is always a good idea to save the current 'priority scheduler' settings before such upgradations

I hope this helps. You can also check with NCR guys and if possible go through their Change Control template for more such precaustions.
