Subj:   Flushing Residual Spool From Amps

From:   Young, Andrew

I am curious as to whether there is any way for a user (non-admin) to flush a stalled job from the system.

I have 3.8gig of residual spool, which sits on the amps (apparently migrating across random amps on a continual basis). This spool remains even after I have disconnected and reconnected, and made sure that I have dropped all volatile and global temporary tables. This spool has persisted since I first noticed it 2 weeks ago.

I asked our DBA's, but they implied that only a Teradata technician can flush away residual spool from the system. This seems unlikely. Is there a way for a standard user to flush all of their running jobs off the amps?
