Subj:   Re: Question about CLI error: EM_GSSINITFAIL(235)

From:   Victor Sokovin

We had a guy get this error after installing the Teradata Utilities on Solaris. Anyone have an idea of what might be causing it?

          > *** CLI error: MTDP: EM_GSSINITFAIL(235): call to gss_init failed.
          > *** Return code from CLI is: 235
          > *** Error: Logon failed!
I think it might be related to the libtdgss file, but not sure how to determine that is the issue or what to do if that is the issue.

OK, now that I am in the manuals and just missed my train, I've looked up this one in the Messages manual:

"235 EM_SSOINITFAIL Call to SSO_INIT failed.

Explanation: CLIv2 will return this error if MTDP received an error return from an SSO_INIT call.

Remedy: Single Signon error: Contact the GSC for support."

But this does not sound exactly like your error message. Perhaps your error had occurred a little bit "earlier" than the error in the message. CLI codes can be confusing.

Perhaps check the installation of the TDGSS package and re-install it, especially if the GSC confirm.

Regards,

Victor
