Sorry that I was not very clear on my request. I do not receive and error when submitting a REPLACE VIEW with comments.

The issues is that the comments do not show up in the view when doing a SHOW VIEW ...

Whereever the comments should be are blank lines... I cannot keep the comment strings in the view DDL.

Try doing a SHOW VIEW dp_tab.V_DBASE and let me know if your comments are in the DDL.
