Hi All,

When we define datatypes like INTEGER, SMALLINT etc in the DEFINE statement, should the file be in TD format only (exported from BTEQ or FE??). Alternatively, can we use SET RECORD UNFORMATTED and still use such datatypes. For a file that we export from other databases (say orcl, MSSQL etc) is our datatype definition limited only to VRATEXT (delimited file) or fixed CHAR(..) only??

I'm just learning FL so pls excuse me if the question looks absurd!
