Subj:   Re: Dropping a join index

From:   Victor Sokovin

I cannot drop the table ABC.tbl1 because of the Join index defined on it.

Isn't this related to the infamous ARC problems with base tables on which JI are defined?

You should ne able to find more information in the archives.

Here is just the suggestion from the Messages manual.

"Notes: The table does exist, but their is no data in the table on the rebuilt AMP. Remedy: Either resubmit the request after the table has been restored, drop the table, or rebuild the table without the LOCK NO FALLBACK TABLES option."

To avoid the problem in the future drop JI before you archive the database and rebuild them afterwards. My understanding, perhaps outdated, is that we cannot reliably archive tables with JI defined on them.

Regards,

Victor
