You do not specify the number of rows to return, nor do you tell us how many sessions you are requesting.

Characteristics of FastExport:

1. If too many sessions requested, it can take longer to logon all sessions then it does to retrieve the rows. Start with 2.

2. If a small number of rows (<500,000) retrieved and ORDER BY used, it can take longer for FastExport to build all the sequential 64K blocks than it does for BTEQ to SELECT and retrieve all rows.
