Subj:   Re: Arcmain restart option

From:   Victor Sokovin

Suppose I have an arcmain job that is running - say I am doing the COPY/RESTORE - and I am half way through in the load process. In between say there is a need to stop the arcmain job and restart it after some time. Now how would I ensure that the restart of the ARC copy/restore starts from the point it was stopped.

The ARC manual seems to contain a whole chapter discussing this topic. In general, it is not always possible to restart the job from the point where it stopped. For example, in cases when the interruption occurred when ARC was dealing with the DBC database.

You might try to go through the chapter in the manual. Perhaps it will shed more light on the particular situation you are facing.

Regards,

Victor
