All,

thanks for the explanation.

I now understand why Teradata can handle the table with the UPI.

The 'create table as' was an example for showing that there is a break in the TD implementation of this table.

So - from an academic point of view - why not adding the VPROC column to the PI? In this case formal design and physical Teradata implementation would fit at least better...

But I am realistic and am not hoping that the PI will be changed ever
