Dave:

The PPI option ranging on SaleDate seems to be much better option since most delete clauses specify a SaleDate and StoreID (with equality constraint), and in fact most of the deletes fall on a day or two. This seems even better then NUSI option with the additional space requirements of NUSI and the insert penalties. We just tested with PPI and explain plans confirm the hypothesis. Your advice is highly appreciated.
