Subj:   TDAministrator: References does not list all views

From:   Pirklbauer Martin

Hi @ll !

And especially Mike ! :-)

We've found following problem with the TD Administrator.

If you go to a table with right click you can choose 'References' and expect to get all views lying underneath. Actually that's not the case. If the view is quite long, it will not be shown.

The reason why is quite simple:

Long views are not stored in DBC.TVM or DBC.dbase but in DBC.TextTbl. The Administrators Reference does not select this table.

We've opened a call at GSC (RECBH4BWK) but the answer was not satisfying at all. Either the 'bug' is put in the documentation, or the feature will be taken out. Was that really your answer ? At least, it was put through to us that way, by our technicians.

Regarding this, we've found another little problem with really long views shown via the TD Administrator. If you click on 'show definition' in the statement one character is cut somewhere in the bottom of the statement. (i.e. instead of from appears fom). This looks like an overflow. Because if you put lets say five blanks in the beginning of the create view, the missing char is five positions earlier. (Open Case to this is: RECBHTWUU)

Thanks in advance!

Regards from Vienna

martin
