Subj:   Re: Query Logging Ghosts

From:   Coffing Christopher L

Thank you all for your directions on my Logging Ghosts...

I have asked, prodded, pushed and complained... But nobody on my team or even outside of my team has enabled logging for these users...

On further probing we discovered that logging was turned on for everything... Ouch!

We recently upgraded from V2R5.0.1 to V2R5.0.3.20... Not sure if this has anything to do with anything but ever since the upgrade I have seen some "unexplainables" occur. You know,,, things that you cannot explain or figure out why they are happening. Nothing to pin down or even consistent patterns to track...

Soooo... When all else fails and the Teradata Forum A-Team cannot work their usual miracles, we start over...

I have ended logging for everything... I have completely clear out all dbqlrules and there is absolutely no logging going on.

I have begun logging on "Account Strings" instead of on a per user basis. (This is better for what we need anyway.)

This seems to be working in a more controlled fashion. I wish I could record this issue as a bug but I have nothing to really go on other than to whine that the "Big T" beat me on this one.

Until we meet again "Big T"...
