Subj:   Is Real-Time Data Loading Real?

From:   Coffing Christopher L

OK... Here we go again...

The uppers are selling the idea to our customers that we can handle "Real-Time" data loading into the warehouse.

We have MQ Series to deliver messages to the warehouse with an expected rate of 20,000 per day... We are also looking into the Enterprise Services Bus to load data directly into the warehouse from all types of systems from old to new.

I have developers working on Triggers to support the loading process and also attempting to come up with all sorts of creative ways to bring down the "Big T System"... I could use some direction on real-time data loads into the warehouse.

What are the options?

Who is doing this today?

Can a real-time data loading solution scale? (We will have more of these if this first phase is successful.)

I need the big brains on this one... Little brains are welcome also... (I am obviously a little brain since I haven't a clue on this one...)
