Subj:   Re: Geting the database name by using SQL which is locked by a failed backup job

From:   Victor Sokovin

I also noticed that "OperationInProcess flag in DBC.RCEvent table remains set to 'Y' for databases that have locks after a backup job failure.". But if the same time another backup job runs then for that database, OperationInProcess flag in DBC.RCEvent table remains set to 'Y' also. How do we differenciate that one database's lock is from active running backup job and another database's lock is from failed backup job? That is my main question.

My understanding of locking in TD in general is that we cannot reliably analyze it via SQL. It is a limitation to developers and application support who seldom have access to DBA utilities. Only those utilities provide an "official" status of locks in the system.

I am sorry if this reply is not really helpful.

Regards,

Victor
