Hi:

I am trying to connect to Teradata Manager Server using Teradata Manager Client from remote site. For that I opened port 135 (for RPC) and port 1102. It worked good, but I had to re-install the ODBC and CLI driver on the machine, but after that the connection failed. On checking I found now it is trying to access port 135 and port 2161.

Can you please help me understand how this RPC port is allocated and works. I know that ports after 1024 are all application specific ports , but could not understand the reason for dynamic port changing.
