Has anyone used Oracle Transparent Gateway to access data on Teradata from an Oracle application? Our specific potential use of this product would be to have an Oracle-based purchased software package access data that is already existing on Teradata rather than having an ETL process from Teradata to Oracle.

If you are familiar with this tool, can you take a stab at these questions for me?

* Do you have documentation/diagrams etc. about the functionality/architecture that you can share with me?

* Do you know sites where Oracle applications make use of this product to access large tables on Teradata?

* Obviously performance is one of the major concerns, do you have any performance benchmarks that you can share? Specifically: Performance of accessing large tables on Teradata via this gateway vs. accessing tables on the local Oracle box.
