Most likely the ODBC data source used by TD Admin is set to use ANSI date mode rather than Integer date mode. (Check ODBC options dialog, or simply issue a 'help session' command in TDAdmin query window.)

I wasnt aware that this would cause it to apply an ansi date format to columns that did not specify a format in a Create Table, but maybe it does.

(ODBC displays all dates in YYYY-MM-DD format unless an application overrides that - but I dont think that effects Create Table commands.)

I guess there is also a remote possibility that someone changed the default date format on the DBS. (Just mentioned for completeness.)
