Have tried, it works (nicely). You can also set up a new user with an already expired password (a one time thing) with the syntax:

     MODIFY USER Heinlein AS PASSWORD = mycroftxxx FOR USER;

'course you got to make sure you're security defaults table in dbc has the ExpirePassword column set right...
