Craig,

Chris' answer is an interesting one....it's something to look at....

We find we only find queries like the one below when the app has inadvertently joined to a non-Teradata table. Is the drop down list boxes somehow non-Teradata tables?

We see queries like the one below from MSAccess and sometimes SAS....generally the user has created a list of something (say client numbers), and wants to select based on that list..... very ugly impact to the system.
