Subj:   Owner does not have any with grant option access

From:   Czajkowski, Al (A.J.)

I know I've got to be missing something obvious.

We have a database with both a table and a view on the table. I have granted Select, Insert, Update, Delete on the database (DBTEST) to the database (DBTEST) with grant option. We have revoked public access to most DBC.* tables/views. Public access has been granted to the DBC.*X views. A process running via java is receiving the following

INFO Loading metadata for DBTEST.VIEW_TEST1 Aug 25, 2004 4:31:30 PM com.mycomp.rc.atd.logging.JDKLogger log SEVERE: DBTEST.VIEW_TEST1 metadata load failed com.ncr.Teradata.jdbc_4.util.JDBCException: [NCR] [Teradata DBMS] : An owner referenced by user does not have any WITH GRANT Option access to DBTEST.TABLE_TEST1

There are other tables and views in DBTEST that the same users can access without failures. The users running the work has select, insert, update, and delete access on DBTEST - there are no table/view level grants on this database. Yes, this is affecting more than 1 user. I have enabled access logging on all references to DBC and DBTEST. There are no failures reported. The accesslog data reports a variety of accesses against objects in DBTEST including show table and show view queries. The access against View_TEST1 is reported as successful. I tried but was unable to turn on logging of accesses by DBTEST (not a user).

I'm not sure what else to look at.

HELP!

Electronically,

Al Czajkowski
